My family and I are proud to call Jackson home. I want Jackson to be a city where families and business thrive- where kids can ride bikes in their neighborhood without dodging potholes; where citizens can rely on basic services like clean water and trash pickup; where families can live free from crime; where new businesses are met with welcome and not red tape, where citizen concerns are met with responsiveness and not apathy; and where we can all prosper in this city we love. Priorities for Ward 1:
As a mother of four, I had two in diapers with no trash pickup for weeks and no clean water to bathe my children. I've seen a lack of responsiveness to infrastructure repairs such as sinkholes and crumbling culverts that make our properties vulnerable to disrepair. I've seen citizens take on responsibilities that should be done by our city. As citizens of Jackson and Ward 1, we love our city and know that we can do better. We can attract businesses and improve public works. We can rewrite the narrative about Jackson and ensure that Ward 1 is a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
